San Lucas Tolimán is a small town in the Mayan highlands of Guatemala.
The town is about five thousand feet above sea level, on the south eastern shores of Lake Atitlan. Two volcanos watch over us.
The economy of the town depends on coffee, and the south facing slopes of the volcanos provide some of the best coffee growing country in Guatemala. There is a little fishing, a busy market, and avocado pears, maize, tomatoes and vegetables are grown as well as coffee.
The climate is agreeable, most of the year being 50º or 60º just before dawn, and rising to the high 70's or 80's during the day.
