Centro Educativo Pavarotti - CEP 

The "Centro Educativo Pavarotti" was built from the proceeds of a concert by the late singer Luciano Pavarotti. Almost all the students are Mayan.

The centre is run by the foundation of Guatemalan Nobel Peace Prize winner Rigoberta Menchu. 

​

The emphasis in the school is in promoting indigenous culture, and in promoting gender equality.

​

• About 150 students attend the school

• The school has a computer lab, library and patio

• The school is known for it's emphasis on Mayan Culture

• Classes start at 7:30 through to 1:00 pm
